When I work with clay, I feel a sense of connection to the earth and the natural world, and I'm reminded of the beauty that can be found in imperfection and asymmetry.
My jewelry designs are a reflection of this philosophy. I incorporate elements of raw clay into my pieces, exposing their natural beauty and allowing their imperfections to shine through. Each piece is unique, and my hope is you will be inspired to embrace your true self and face life's challenges with courage, determination, and delicate strength...just like clay.
My name is Heather Garner, and I am the main artist and creator behind Cedar Door Clay Designs. I have help from Bobby, my husband, who throws on the wheel and does most of our custom work. I have always had a passion for working with my hands and creating beautiful pieces of art, and I am thrilled to be able to share our creations with you.
My journey with ceramics began several years ago when Bobby encouraged me to take a pottery class. From the moment I sat down and began working with the clay, I knew that this was something I wanted to pursue. I spent countless hours practicing my craft and experimenting with different techniques until I found my own unique style, which includes the exposure of raw unglazed clay.
All of my pieces are handcrafted with care and attention to detail. I draw inspiration from the natural world around me, and you will often find elements of nature in my designs. My hope is that the wearer of our jewelry is reminded that clay, just like us, being raw and authentic is beautiful.
